Welcome to Coatsi Chess - A Revolution in the Chess World
Our main goal at Coatsi Chess is to allow players of any level to make a living from the game of chess, if they choose to do so. To kickstart this, we're launching online prize-funded chess tournaments that are open to everyone.
We're offering more than just a space to play - we're providing an opportunity to earn from your talent and to display your abilities on a larger stage. Join us in our mission to reshape the world of chess, to create an environment where every chess player's skill, commitment, and dedication are acknowledged and suitably rewarded.
Welcome to Coatsi Chess. Together, let's make every move a leap towards a promising and rewarding chess future!
Meet Sam
Sam is the grand mastermind behind Coatsi Chess. As our Founder, Sam is the pawn-turned-king who's committed to revolutionizing the chess world.
Sam's story began much like many of ours, with a youthful fascination with chess that grew into a lifelong love for the game. Representing Scotland in international youth tournaments, he saw the uncharted potential within the chess community.
His vision? To create a world where every chess player, irrespective of their level, is rewarded for their strategic brilliance and relentless dedication. From the weekend club player to the seasoned professional, Sam believes that every deft move and checkmate is deserving of recognition, and perhaps more importantly, compensation.
The idea is simple: let's not just play the game we love, but also earn from it.
Meet Andy
Andy Howie is the Guardian of Chess Integrity at Coatsi Chess.
Andy, renowned internationally as a FIDE arbiter and organizer, is at the helm of our cheat detection team. With his background as an executive director of Chess Scotland and a Secretary/Delegate of the European Chess Union, Andy brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge to our team. In fact, his reputation precedes him: he was an arbiter in the prestigious 2021 Magnus Carlsen vs. Ian Nepomniachtchi World Championship match.
Known colloquially as "The Cheater Hunter," Andy's firm belief in upholding the integrity of chess is unwavering. At Coatsi Chess, his commitment to fair play is integral to our operations.
Andy doesn't just rely on his wealth of experience, though. He leverages advanced anti-cheating software exclusively available to top arbiters worldwide. This system, developed by Dr. Ken Regan, scrutinizes every game and move against computer engines, providing critical indicators of potential cheating. This robust software, paired with Andy's keen eye, ensures that every game played in our tournaments maintains the highest standards of integrity and fairness.
With his unyielding dedication and a penchant for shorts and sandals regardless of the weather, Andy is a stalwart presence in our Coatsi Chess family. His work, often unseen yet vital, keeps the essence of chess - fair play, strategy, and skill - alive in every game. We couldn't imagine anyone better to hold the fort of chess integrity.
Rest assured, with Andy on our side, every move in Coatsi Chess is an honest one.
